At Protiberia, we believe that true innovation happens when we literally listen to nature. That is the soul of Quiet Storm: when music and science meet… inside a tray of beetles.

It has been 1 year since Hungry Ecocities, through “Quiet Storm: Music for Insects” project, gave us the opportunity to put together science and art to improve agrifood sector.

At Villamalea, Samuel Van Ransbeeck and Protiberia have been working on how rhythmic and percussive sounds can improve the reproductive and mating behavior of Tenebrio molitor, an insect essential for advancing sustainable agriculture.

This initiative will also help more people to discover and get comfortable with Tenebrio molitor — a highly nutritious, efficient, and deeply sustainable source of protein.

After all the work done, we are excited to show how this collaboration has been an inspiration to the entire Protiberia team and opens new possibilities for rural innovation and development.

During the event, that will take place on 2nd October, at 7 PM, at Villamalea Town Hall (Albacete), various activities will be held to learn more about insect breeding and its potential use as a source of protein for animal and human nutrition. This will be done through a multidisciplinary and multisensory experience where science and art merge to introduce participants to new sources of protein.

We look forward to seeing you!
